Dr. Jacqueline N. Lenoci (Parrotta), MD is a Board-Certified ophthalmologist who was born and raised in the Capital Region. She received her Bachelors of Science Degree with honors in Neuroscience from Trinity College in Hartford, CT and her Medical Degree (MD) from Albany Medical College in Albany, NY. She went on to complete her Ophthalmology residency at Albany Medical College where she served as Chief Resident and received the Faculty Award for Excellence. Continuing her clinical and research interests in glaucoma, she completed her fellowship in glaucoma and complex cataract surgery and management at the prestigious Bascom Palmer Eye Institute. Dr. Lenoci spent the last few years practicing as a glaucoma specialist and cataract surgeon in the Glaucoma Center at Stony Brook University in Stony Brook, NY.
Dr. Lenoci plays an active role in education and research. She served as Assistant Clinical Professor at Stony Brook University where she taught glaucoma and cataract surgery and management to resident physicians. While at Stony Brook she implemented a cataract video and training conference to improve resident cataract surgery education. She will be joining the faculty at Albany Medical Center as an Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology and will continue with resident education and training at the Albany Stratton VA. She has been first author on a published peer-reviewed paper and has had her work presented at multiple Ophthalmologic meetings.
Dr. Lenoci’s clinical interests include medical, laser and surgical management of primary open-angle glaucoma, angle closure glaucoma, pigmentary and pseudoexfoliation glaucoma, and secondary glaucoma’s such as neovascular glaucoma as well as standard and complex cataract surgery. She is an active member of the American Glaucoma Society (AGS), American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO) and Women in Ophthalmology (WIO).
Dr. Lenoci is married to her husband Christopher and they have one daughter. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, playing tennis, skiing, reading and spending time with friends and family. Dr. Lenoci is committed to providing her patients with excellent and compassionate care.
